When Ortus group began working with this firm, they had two offices and were turning over around £14m. They appointed us to assist in delivering their growth strategy as they had multiple succession problems across many areas of the practice as well as ambitions to open in new cities. Over the course of four years, Ortus group delivered projects as diverse as corporate finance and matrimonial partners for succession, several partners to build a new Bristol office around and three acquisitions to facilitate the launch of a new presence in London. London was particularly interesting as this firm had been trying to enter the city for several years to no avail. Within four months of instruction, we had agreed heads of terms with the first of three acquisitions which was a £2.5m firm with a fantastic reputation in private client and commercial work. Two subsequent acquisitions were bolted on in both private client and corporate work. This London office is now well established and the firm sits within the top 100, having added 2 offices and 15 partners as a result of our work together.
